Dr Njenga Foundation Orphanage
Location: Kenya, Kiambu District, Gatamaiyu Division, Kamuchege Village
Driving Direction: While in Kenya, Go to Nairobi City. Then take Thika Road and branch left to Kiambu road just before Muthaiga Police station. Drive and pass Kiambu township (15 minutes) to Nduberi town (10 minutes) where you branch right and towards Githunguri town (30 minutes). Just before you enter Githunguri town, branch to your right towards Kagwe road. Follow Kagwe Road all the way past Ruiru river bridge, climb the hill almost to the top, and branch to your right on a small road (15 minutes). The Orphanage is about 200 meters on your right and it is the only “wire mess” fenced property. If you are lost, ask neighbors.
Capacity: 23 children
Where Children goes to School:
3 girls go to Girls High Schools ;1 Girl in trade-training to be Beautician ; 1 Girl in Teachers Training College; 5 boys in High School;
2 boys in Trade-training to be motor mechanics and wielders; Others go to Kamuchege Primary School; While few have left either to marry or became self sustaining.
Workers: 2 Salaried Nannies.
